NEW ROAD CONSULTANCY (NRC)

New Road Consultancy is a counselling and psychotherapy service based in Brighton.

Our wish is that your experience of counselling or psychotherapy is fruitful and rewarding.

Finding and seeing a therapist can feel like a daunting experience as it is so personal.

It can feel like putting your heart and mind in the hands of a stranger.

The NRC counsellors / psychotherapists are aware of this and will work with you as sensitively and empathically as possible.

Most of the therapists have experienced years of being in therapy themselves as part of their training.

They know what it is like to be a client or patient.

All the NRC counsellors and psychotherapists strive to work from the highest professional and ethical standard.

All the therapists are trained at reputable training organisations and have ongoing supervision.

Saying this not all therapists are right for all people so never feel pressurised to stay with a therapist if you feel they are not right for you.

We would value feedback on your experience with us both positive and negative so we can know what we are doing well and what we need to improve on. 

THE CENTRE FOR MINDFULNESS BASED EDUCATION (CMBE)

The Centre For Mindfulness Based Education is where courses and workshops take place.

Most of the courses (not all) have an emphasis on mindfulness based learning.



Very simply mindfulness is learning to pay attention to the present moment.

We tend to be very caught up in automatic thinking, of the past, future, judgements views, opinions and so on.

There is nothing wrong with this as such, it's just that in being caught up in preoccupied thought we forget how to enjoy our lives.


Mindfulness is based in awareness, openess and compassion.
We are not aiming to  teach you from any fixed religious or theoretical position.
