Jill has a deep interest in releasing the enormous resources we each have inside ourselves to support healing and realise potential. In pursuit of this she offers an integrative approach to psychotherapy and counselling with adults from different cultures, ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations, who are experiencing a variety of psychological difficulties be they in thoughts, feelings, body or spirit. These may include loss and bereavement, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, crises of identity, relationship problems, long term conditions, eating disorders and trauma.
Her approach considers the importance of the whole person, paying attention to thoughts, feelings and somatic (body) symptoms which cause distress and dissonance, seeking to move beyond these symptoms to engage at the source of disturbance without pathologising or judging. In the therapy room this means accepting 'what is', recognising and witnessing imbalance and that which needs healing. In the healing process Jill works with the person to person relationship, recognizing the importance of the unconscious, the role of the body as the physical basis of emotion, experience, growth and change, and allowing for experience beyond the factual and material.
Jill has a special interest in the human energy field and the links between eastern traditions around the body and spirit, and western approaches to the mind. She is influenced by Zen Buddhism and has a regular meditation and chi kung practice.
